Quill Needs Less Steps/More Intuitive
Karen Oppenheim
It's my first time using Quill. I've just added 4 high school English classes. And can I please ask that you make it far more intuitive with less steps - both for teachers and students. The fact that I needed to create 2 Google Docs with all the directions for both students and myself is not a good sign.

The platform is not user friendly at all. It shouldn't be so difficult to assign skills related to diagnostic results. I have been playing with the platform for a year and still don't feel comfortable finding anything or assigning activities. It's a problem.

When students have x number of activities left, then the next diagnostic should pop up on their activity report (automatically or as an easy-to-assign alert to the teacher).
Instead, as it is now, after students complete their recommended activities, they must let me know. Then, I must check on the activity summary view to verify and figure out which diagnostic to assign next, then click several times to find the next diagnostic, make up a new name for it, and finally assign it. I must do this separately for each student since they are all at different paces. It takes 11 clicks to navigate through this process for each student every time. It is extremely cumbersome. I love this program, but please make it more user-friendly by building in more automation for teachers.

This is a great tool, but the website is not at all intuitive. I'm struggling to find the information I need to find. I'll find it once and look at it, know that it's helpful information and then I can't find it again without clicking around everywhere. I wish that my student information was all in one tab. Where I can view their results, see their activity, assign them activities and view progress. Right now I feel like it's all on separate screens and takes me a long time to find.

Make it easier to see your classes and get to the assignments kids are doing/need to do from the first page instead of clicking through Diagnostics and then recommendations for student practice. :)

The teacher dashboard can be very difficult to navigate. Many of the pages don't seem to serve much purpose. You can consolidate many of the activity pages into something simpler.

Assigning activities

Please make it a one or two click action. I get lost every time I have to assign them from the diagnostic assessment! Thanks:)

Difficult to navigate

When I need to assign activity packs I can never find the proper dashboard to do this & when I do it takes forever for me to remember how to get to the button that says assign activity packs. I sometimes have to go to Student Report, the to Activity Analysis then Practice Recommend. Can there be a simpler shortcut provided? Other than this I absolutely love Quill & my students do too!

Not user Friendly

Is there a way to make the teachers end be more user friendly. It really is difficult to navigate and figure out how to add or what to add.

User friendly?

It is taking quite a lot of time to understand how to make good use of the amazing options that Quill has to offer! Other teachers will empathize with me…we are always short of time 😉
